"Great location, very good pizza and pasta, bit of a wait and okay pricing."
"Nice cosy small place, but great service and food."
"Great owner-run restaurant, super friendly and accommodating staff."
5 I would say the best place to have traditional Italian food in pisa, highly recommended. Very kind and extremely welcoming waiters, with good customer services. I had the best carbonara with perfect fried guanciale and sea food pasta as recommended by them. Also I recommended to try their freshly homemade dessert (try creme brulée). In and around its a 10/10 place to have italian good food in pisa.
5 Il Peperoncino in Pisa is a warm and welcoming restaurant that perfectly balances traditional Tuscan charm with an authentic local atmosphere. Located just a few steps from the Leaning Tower, it offers an ideal break after a long day of sightseeing. The decor is simple yet cozy, with friendly staff who make you feel at home the moment you walk in. Service is consistently praised for being attentive and kind — they often surprise guests with a complimentary limoncello at the end of the meal. The menu focuses on regional Italian cuisine, featuring pasta, pizza, and fresh seafood. One of the standout dishes is the pasta with sausage and truffle, rich, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. Seafood lovers will appreciate the spaghetti ai frutti di mare, while meat enthusiasts can try the grilled filet with balsamic glaze. Desserts such as tiramisù and panna cotta complete the experience beautifully. Prices are reasonable for the central location, and the quality of food justifies the cost. The restaurant also accommodates vegetarian and gluten-free preferences. Although it can get crowded during peak hours, especially around dinner time, arriving early ensures a more relaxed experience. Overall, Il Peperoncino delivers a delightful taste of Tuscany with genuine hospitality and memorable flavors.
5 A wonderful restaurant with brilliant service and delicious food! We sat there for dinner after a long day of travelling and walking and we were nicely surprised with how good this place is. It may seem like one of the many , but it was the best choice, the staff were lovely and the prices are very reasonable. Would highly recommend!
5 Hands down the best meal we’ve had in Italy. The pasta is clearly homemade—perfect texture, rich flavor, and cooked exactly right. You can taste the care in every bite. The carbonara was outstanding: creamy without being heavy, beautifully balanced, and finished with just the right amount of crispy pancetta. No shortcuts, no gimmicks—just classic Italian cooking done exceptionally well. The prosciutto and burrata dish was equally memorable—fresh, delicate, and simple in the best way. My daughters and I loved it so much we even ordered more to take home. The servers were incredibly kind, and the service was some of the best we experienced during our trip. Warm, welcoming atmosphere and unforgettable food. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine with truly excellent handmade pasta, Ristorante Peperoncino is a must.
5 The seafood pasta was really good, the pasta was cooked just right and the seafood tasted super fresh. The flavours were rich but not too heavy. I also loved the green tea. It was light, smooth, and very refreshing, a great match for the food. Simple, tasty, and definitely worth coming back for.
5 Great food and friendly service Il Peperoncino is a lovely restaurant close to the Leaning Tower. The food was delicious, well cooked, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Portions were generous and good value for money. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cosy and relaxed. A great place for an authentic Italian meal in Pisa. Highly recommended!
5 I had arrived to Pisa in the evening and took a walk around the tower area. I was tired and hungry and did not want to be too picky about the dinner. I chose this one out of the many other on the same street because of the reviews and I was utterly happy for that choice. Seafood salad fresh and delicate, also quite generous. The beef steak with balsamico was so tender. Also the service was very friendly. It was not very crowded despite Saturday night. Much better than my expectations, thanks!
5 After walking around the main street to choose where to eat, we stopped at this place.. the host was very kind and talk to us and explain the menu.. we decided to give it a try. Food was quite tasty, the pasta we order was the diavola, which it was actually spicy...so that was good. Pizza margarita was simple but delicious. Service was good.
